Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW)
This year we are raising awareness around Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RVHD2). RVHD2 is a new variant of RVHD1 and is often fatal.
Many rabbits in the UK are not vaccinated against this deadly disease and are therefore at risk. This year we are asking all rabbit owners in the UK to make sure that their rabbits are vaccinated against this and other fatal diseases.

National help a horse day
Even though this is an American national celebration why can’t we show some extra love to our equine friend today and even support a friend or charity with their horses / ponies / shetlands too
Horses continue to be both a popular pet as well as serving as hard-working farm animals. In recent years, stories of their neglect and abandonment have continued to rise; as owners have found the cost of looking after them too prohibitive to cope with.
Help a Horse Day is your opportunity to send a donation to an equine care charity of your choice! Or share an apple or carrot with a local horse you know! Or sign your name to a petition demanding better care for these faithful, four-footed friends who have served us so well over the centuries. All they need is a hand (after all, most of them are at least 10 hands high!) to enjoy a better life.

National Spay/Neuter day
Nine of the UK’s animal welfare charities* have joined forces to promote World Spay Day to encourage cat owners to have their cats spayed
Recent research has shown that 70% of litters in the UK are unplanned.
Our advice is simple - have your cat spayed at four months to protect her from getting pregnant.
Male cats should be neutered too, to protect them catching diseases and getting nasty injuries from fighting - a male cat which hasn’t been neutered is much more likely to fight over a female mate. Neutering can also help to stop male cats from spraying indoors - which can be really smelly. He’s also more likely to stay close to home as a neutered male cat is less likely to stray.

National Love your pet day
On February 20, we celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, a day to embrace one special trait that makes us human: our love of our pets! There are many things that differentiate humans from the rest of the animal kingdom, but one of the more unusual behaviors is our longstanding tendency to keep other animals as pets.
Give them an extra hug today or buy them a treat. A little check over to make sure they are ok will make them feel loved on this special day.
